The Municipality of Meaford is inviting the community to come together on Saturday, June 20 for Splash Into Summer, a full day of family-friendly fun celebrating the Grand Opening of the new splash pad and the Longest Day of Play.

The Longest Day of Play is a community-wide initiative that encourages children and families to get outside, be active, and enjoy unstructured play. Splash Into Summer also marks the official opening of Meaford’s new splash pad, a highly anticipated and accessible community space designed for summer fun.

Free play and drop-in activities are available all day. Visitors are welcome to arrive at any time and stay as long as they like.

Accessibility

Accessibility and inclusion are a key focus of this event. Features include:

  • Mobi mats in the game zone for improved mobility access

  • A trackless train with ramp access

  • Lowered curb access points for easy entry

  • A splash pad that is flush with the ground for barrier-free play

  • Accessible parking available on Bayfield Street directly in front of the park

Activities are designed to be welcoming and accessible for all, with clear event information available to help visitors plan their day.

Plan Your Visit

Before heading out, take a moment to plan your trip:

  • Bayfield Street will be closed from Collingwood Street East to Park Street East from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Please follow posted detours and signage and allow extra time for travel

Residents are encouraged to drop in at any time and enjoy the full day of programming. There is something happening throughout the day for all ages to enjoy.
