A Cottage Built for Connection.

Skipping Rock Cottages was designed with families and groups in mind. The Brooks-Rolfe family knows firsthand how precious time together is. Whether it’s a multi-generational vacation, a long-awaited reunion, or just a quiet weekend escape, the cottage was created to feel like home.

From the cozy indoor spaces perfect for movie nights and board games to the outdoor adventures waiting just beyond the doorstep, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create a space for connection and relaxation.

“Skipping Rock Cottages is more than just a rental—it’s a place filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. It’s where my family has watched our children discover the beauty of nature, where we’ve reconnected, and where we’ve shared quiet mornings and lively, laughter-filled nights.

We can’t wait for others to experience it and hope it becomes as special to our guests as it is to us.”

Welcome to Their Happy Place

Breanna’s connection to cottage life runs deep. She grew up spending summers and holidays at her family’s cottage in Tiny Township, which her great-grandmother bought in 1973. Some of her most treasured memories were made there—performing with her cousins for the aunts, uncles, and grandparents; corn-on-the-cob eating contests (her Auntie Dianne still holds the record with 14!); and the annual Thanksgiving race into the freezing water, with her dad being the only adult brave enough to join in.

The cottage was the heart of her family. It was where everyone gathered, despite living in different cities. When Breanna’s Nana passed away, keeping the cottage in the family became too complicated. With over 40 family members involved—each with different visions and financial situations—it became clear that it was time to let it go.

That experience planted a seed in Breanna. She knew she wanted to give her own children (now 4 and 2) that same sense of togetherness and belonging. When she and Nick found the property in Meaford, it felt like fate.

Nick is from the UK and moved to Canada in 2015. He and Breanna met at a British pub in Toronto and started as friends. Breanna had moved around a lot as a child due to her father’s military career, so she knew how hard it could be to find a sense of belonging in a new place. She helped Nick settle in—getting him involved in a baseball team and inviting him to social events. Before long, they fell in love.

Breanna has always been a natural gatherer—someone who brings people together. That’s why this property felt so special. It wasn’t just about finding a beautiful place to relax—it was about creating a space where families and friends could come together, disconnect from life’s chaos, and reconnect.
